For steady inviscid adiabatic flow with no additional sources or sinks of energy, is constant along any given streamline.
It concerns a steady adiabatic flow of a fluid through a flow resistance ( valve, porous plug, or any other type of flow resistance ) as shown in the figure.
Since potential temperature is conserved under adiabatic or isentropic air motions, in steady, adiabatic flow lines or surfaces of constant potential temperature act as streamlines or flow surfaces, respectively.
